BBBS Fundraiser
Mike's donates $41,177 to Big Brothers Big Sisters Chapters
Mike's Carwash partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters on Saturday, October 11 (and on October 18 in Evansville) to raise money and awareness for youth mentoring programs in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Seven Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies benefitted from the fifth annual fundraiser which raised $41,177.29. During the one-day event, half the proceeds of every Works wash, a $15 value, and Ultimate wash, a $19 value, were donated along with any donations made by customers.

The event was held from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 15 participating Mike's Carwash locations. Media personalities, radio stations, other special guests and free restaurant food samples and coupons were on hand at most Mike's locations. All funds raised will help offset the cost of programming for youth mentoring in the communities where the fundraisers are held.

"We're very appreciative of our customers who help us support the mission of proving children facing adversity with strong relationships and positive change," said Mike's Carwash CEO and President Mike Dahm. "We know one-to-one mentoring works, although the demand has never been greater. In addition to raising money for an outstanding organization, we also want to raise awareness that mentors are greatly needed."

Big Brothers Big Sisters partners with parents, guardians, volunteers, schools, donors, and others in the community to help youth in the program achieve:

  • higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships,
  • educational success, and
  • avoidance of risky behaviors.

Mike's Carwash raises over $22,000 to fund cancer research
SEPTEMBER 2014   -   Cincinnati, OH
Mike's Carwash would like to thank all Greater Cincinnati and Dayton customers and associates who recently made a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at our locations. With your support and help, Mike's contributed more than $22,000 to the LLS 2014 Light the Night Walk in Mason, Ohio on September 23.

The money was raised during a nine-day period at Mike's Carwash locations in Ohio and Kentucky. The efforts culminated with Mike's Carwash team participating in the Light the Night Walk, where the team was recognized for the largest donation at the 2014 event.

The LLS brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors, as well as those lost to the diseases, and shines a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to treatments for blood cancer patients. Mike's Carwash donations will help fund research and advance therapy techniques for patients with blood cancer.

The owner of Mike's Carwash, Mike Dahm, recently lost his friend, Ken Murowski, to Leukemia which inspired him to participate in this year's event. "Ken was a close friend for the past 15 years since I moved to Cincinnati. For this reason, I was passionate about supporting LLS and was excited about the success we had raising money for the cause."
